Possible Bug with Fixed Assets - Asset does not acquire if Fixed Asset Card is open

Hi Gurus

I noticed today the following possible bug (US version on SaaS). I wonder if someone else can replicate this issue as well

1) Create a new fixed asset and DO NOT close the card. Just select subclass and add description. But leave the card open.

2) Go to purchase invoice and create purchase invoice for the new fixed asset then post. This should acquire the asset.

3) Go back to fix asset card. Do you see the book value (you should) but did BC acquired your asset? in my case if I leave the fixed asset card open it does not acquire the asset. But if I closed it then all is good.

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

Hi, This looks like the data is not being saved correctly.

Did you test it in BC21? This time there is a new feature as follows.

    Auto-save as you work:

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

This is a known issue that Microsoft corrects in Wave2 that will be released in October.

Was it fixed? Because I have several FA registers with Aquired flag off, so my assets are not depreciating correctly, is there a way to fix this?

Looks like it fixed in new version. But you need to fix those effected one through Configuration Package. You need to download Depreciation Books and see some other acquired asset example than populate those impacted one correctly and upload back.

I tried doing so, but it seems I can not update Acquired flag correctly, I think I would need to make something programmaticaly :( So sad for me.

    Hi

Can you post example of your configuration package here and explain which part is not correct? I have fixed that before through configuration package. Happy to help

    Hi

Sorry typing from tablet hence cannot provide screenshot

You are on the right track. For 5612 go to filter (Table -> Filter). Then filter Field ID 30 (Acquisition Date) for filter '' (two '  and not ") which means blank. Then download. You will see those fixed assets that you mentioned.

Now in the Table add the dates two the below field. In USA version I needed to add as  2022-12-15  otherwise it did not work. Your version looks like DD/MM/YY (based on screenshots)

Fields are below. Make sure enter the same date for all of them

    Depreciation Starting Date

    Acquisition Date

    G/L Acquisition Date

Then upload and try. Please test first in Sandbox.
