Dynamics 365 on cloud data security

Hi,

I'm new in Dynamics cloud base and I have some doubts related to Dynamics 365 on cloud base.

1- If one of Dynamics Administrators deletes main major data from Dynamics 365 on cloud such as customers master data with its relates transactions from cloud Database of Dynamics 365, so what is the restore solution?

2- If one PC upload a virus attachment, such as in RFQ from vendor, so our data on cloud including a virus and data was infected, what is the security of this issue?

May i have an answer?

Thanks.

    Hi partner,

1.Dynamics 365 provided backup&restore feature for users to protect data, the system will create backups automatically. Pay attention that system backups for production instance are retained to 28 days, but for other types instances are retained up to 7 days.

You could go to Dynamics 365 Admin center to check the restore management.

Or you could also get this in new power platform admin center.

For more detail, please refer to this doc.

    2. The D365 system does not have antivirus features, but it has a very elaborate security mechanism.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/security-roles-privileges

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/previous-versions/dynamicscrm-2016/developers-guide/gg309524(v=crm.8)

We can reduce the risk by controlling the permissions to upload files, and if we're really unlucky to get the virus, we could restore the instance with keeping our data.

To fend off viruses and malware, we provide the following suggestions:

    1.Use firewalls.

    2.Use antivirs program.

    3.Upgrade window system.

    4.Back up data.

In general, we could prevent the data losing and virus by controlling the delete and upload permissions in dynamics 365. We can leverage the security role based on security mechanisms and business requirements.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo
