Document Printing Issues

Client is attempting to print the Financial Trial Balance - Detail from an non-modified report.  Verified looking at the original document in the Dynamics Dictionary.

Issue is when printing the report to screen you can see that the report is 'forced' to the upper left and top of the page.  When you print as a PDF it is definitely forced to the top / left position, leaving about 1/2 inch on right and bottom for margin.

I tried to change the printer by changing the scale, but that only shrank the print and still pushed the print tot he upper left corner of the page.

Suggestions???

    Hi Bill,

What version are you using? I have GP 2015 .898 installed and my detailed GL detail trial balance doesn't look odd at all. The margins are narrow, about a quarter of an inch all around, but nothing is being cut off. Here I'm using an HP LaserJet P1102w, but none of my clients have ever mentioned this as a problem.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Bill,

I tested this on my GP 2015 install.

I am almost 100% sure this isn't related to the printer settings but rather the report layout being designed poorly.

    Regards,

    Kirk

So Kirk you would consider this a technical issue with the report and not a printer based issue?

What version of GP are you running?  And can you duplicate this on another reports?

    Hi Bill,

You will need to modify the report in report writer or open a support incident with Microsoft. I just tried this out using the same report and am pretty sure it is a design flaw.

    Hi Bill,

Quite weird since you mentioned this is a canned report.  Just to make sure, check under Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports and verify that the MS Dynamics GP option is marked.

Is it happening to other reports?

I can suggest recreating the Reports.dic file and then verify if the issue persists.
