Problems with share point integration

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello, happy new year!!!

I have a problem with the integration between dynamics and sharePoint, I want that when I qualify a lead and this become in an opportunity, automaticly thw system will have to create a folder to upload documents asosiates to this opportunity, I tried to create or enable a Server-Based SharePoitn Integration but it said to me that I need a SharePoint Document Locations with a relative location. In this moment I have my default site or location (absolute for example: https://mps150783.sharepoint.com) but when I try to add a relative URL the system give me an error, the error said that the URL is not exists. I traid so many ways to put that URL and nothing works, for example I tried:

1.-   documents

2.- Documents

3.- /documents

4.- /Documents

5.- Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx

6.- Shared%20Documents/Forms/

7.- /Shared%20Documents/Forms/

8.- /Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx

Can you help to create a new Document location with a relative URL, maybe if I can createit I can enable the server.

RE: Problems with share point integration

    Hi Luis,

    Few things to check.

Go to Settings > Document Management Settings and check if Document Management is enabled for Opportunities.

The way document management is configured is as below.

    • SharePoint Site record is created with base URL (i.e. https://mps150783.sharepoint.com)
    • For each entity document management is enabled, a Document Location record is created.  The relative URL of these records with have the entity schema name (i.e. contact, opportunity etc).  The Parent Site or Location includes the SharePoint Site.  In SharePoint, there should be a Document Library with the same name.  When you enable Document Management for an entity, a Document Library is automatically created in SharePoint.  In your example you are trying to use "Shared Documents" document library.  Try using the one that's created automatically.
    • Now, for each record in Opportunity, Document Location record needs to be created with Relative URL includes a folder name.  There should be a folder in SharePoint with the same name in the above mentioned Document Library.

+1 for Inogic to provide a solution to automate this process.

RE: Problems with share point integration

From your query it seems that when the Lead is Qualified and an Opportunity is created you want to create a Folder related to this Opportunity to upload the files.

And to do so you will actually need to create folder in SharePoint and then create a Document Location record in CRM .

This can be achieved through a plugin or custom workflow assembly on create of Opportunity.

You may refer below link to create Folders if you are using an Online CRM

Hope this helps you in your requirement.
