Workflow of timesheets

Hi everyone,

How can i create a team to work a project and assign them a project manager? and how can i configure the workflow wich enables the project manager approving the timesheets of his team?

Please help me

    Hi Ameni,

    On each project you can define a project manager. Within the workflow you can assign to a participant of being the project user (project manager in your scenario).

    And the fact of assigning this project manager, is it showed under role of participant in the workflow ?

    Hi Ameni,

    More precisely: The project manager which can be setup on the project form, can be used for line item workflows only. It is part of the 'Participant' assignment type. Then on tab 'Role based' select the option 'Project participants' to be able to select the Project manager as participant.

    Hello Ludwig,

    In the entity DAT, in type participant i find "security role participant" wich under role based i find project manager. And i find the "user group participants" under what i have no participant in the role based although i have parameter the roles under ressource scheduling. Is it right to select "security role participant"?

    An other question please is when creating a timesheet, how can i link the category with the activity assigned in th e project to the worker? because when i assign a category to the project and the ressource, the category is showed automatically in the timesheet but when i choose an activity ( scheduled in the project) , the category disappears).

    Hi Ameni,

    This is not the correct participant. A security role assignment will assign the workflow to all users having that role. Then depending on settings they all have to approve, majority or just one.

    Have you opened the timesheet line item workflow? In the timesheet workflow, there is no participant selection for 'Participant'.

    This has been described above. First question: What workflow type did you look into? The timesheet or line item workflow? It is only available for line items as per line it knows a project.

    So André, i've found it, thank you very much but when  using the timesheet lines workflow, i can't submit my timesheet, i don't even  find the button submit in the timesheet, how can i configurate it ?

    Hi Ameni,

    You have to create a timesheet workflow to be able to start the approval. Then in this timesheet workflow, you can add an element to call the line item workflow. This part is probably missing in your configuration.
