CRM message delivery failures due to 'Invitation not sent'

Hi,

I am working on a Dynamics 365 online environment, and I am getting the following error when sending automated workflow emails on behalf of certain users.

2017_2D00_07_2D00_26-15_5F00_17_5F00_45_2D00_Email_5F00_-Booking-Declined-CRM_5F00_0001131-_2D00_-Internet-Explorer.png

I have ensured that their mailboxes are approved and tested, and that the 'allow other users to send email on your behalf' is ticked. The outgoing mail for the mailbox is set to server side sync.

I can see when looking at the users in advanced find, there is a column called 'Invitation Status'. The users having issues have 'invitation not sent' in this field. Can anyone explain what this invitation is and how I can send it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Chris

Have you given delegate role (act on behalf of other) to the user?

Please try giving that role and test again..

I have granted act on behalf permissions, and temporarily assigned the system administrator role to the user. The same error occurred. The workflow has been sending successfully for users with the same security roles, and the emails are going to the same recipient every time. The only difference I can find is the invitation status.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    UPDATE:

I managed to change the invitation status to accepted with a workflow, and after doing so the emails are sending successfully.

If anyone can confirm what the invitation is and if there is a 'proper' way to send it, would be great.
