Employee showing up as dependent on 1095-C

I have a client who is self insured and has to report on part B of the 1095-C.  In the dependent screen, the employee shows up as a "self" in the dependent list and is showing up with a status of "covered" which is greyed out and cannot be changed.  The employee as well as the dependents are printing on the 1095-C even when the employee and the dependents were not covered for the entire year.  Anyone have any idea how to resolve this.

While it seems a bit redundant, the employee does actually need to be listed under part 3 on 1095-C. The instructions from the IRS say "Columns (a) through (d), as applicable, must be completed for each individual enrolled in the coverage, including the

employee reported on line 1." This can be found mid-way down the page, on the left column, on page 12: www.irs.gov/.../i109495c.pdf

Chris, when I look at the instructions for the 1095-C it says "Part III reports the name, SSN (or TIN for covered individuals other than the employee listed in Part I).  I took that to mean that if they are listed in Part I they shouldn't be listed in Part III.  Is that correct?

Peggy, the employee, and any other enrolled dependents, should be reported on part 3 of the 1095-C, even if they were only covered for a portion of the year, by self-insured plans. So if the employee and/or dependent is marked as 'covered' at any time during 2015, they should be included. You'll want to be sure that you only have the appropriate coverage months actually checked off however, which can be edited in the edit W-2 window in GP.

So it sounds like the GP behavior you're reporting is normal, but it's also possible I'm misunderstanding the scenario.
