'showModaldialog' is unsupported in newer versions of IE(11 onwards)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

'showModalDialog' in CRM 2011 used to work properly as it used to return value(window.returnValue) from child window to main page and script execution used to wait until User performs some activity on 'showModalDialog' window and dependent remaining script used to execute.

In newer versions of IE(11) , window.returnValue property is undefined and due to which dependent script gets failed.

Is there any work around for 'showModalDialog' which behaves similar as i need dependent script need to be paused untill there is an activity on window
