Updating item price on price list directly from accepted quotation

Good afternoon!

Hope somebody has some insight into the below:

I have an unusual client requirement.

The client needs to be able to mark a quotation as /accepted by the client/, and when they mark it accepted, they need the item price from the quotation to automatically update the item price in the price list to the quotation price.

I realise this is not standard functionality but do you think it will be possible to write a /script/ in AL to perform this task, and is it a very long/difficult process?

Would appreciate feedback

Many thanks
Richard

To answer - yes we can add logic behind and work on the same in AL.

Also to plus - such customisation are to be done thinking functionally as per the system as well, so that we go towards a reliable and optimal the approach for a better solution.

    Good luck :)

    Hi,

    Thanks for both responses.

I realise the client is approaching it from the wrong side logically and have advised them, the problem is that their business process is actually that the accepted quote price becomes the new default price for sales going forward. And they don't want to have to manually go and update the price list is this is duplicate work. So its a specific client requirement.

Is it possible to do this using AL Code?

    Thanks!

Your client is approaching the requirement from the wrong side.

They shouldn’t create a price list after the quote. Instead, they should create a price list and then the quote.

Hi, it is recommended that you use new sales pricing experience, there is a status field here, you can add a simple approval process, and the status will be updated after the approval is passed.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.
