🌟 Seeking Guidance on Automating General Journal Import via Electronic Reporting 🌟

Dear All,

I'm exploring the use of electronic reporting to automate the periodic import of General Journal header/lines from Excel files. I'm specifically looking to fetch these files automatically from SharePoint, a File server, or potentially using Azure storage if feasible.

Seeking your expertise: if you could kindly share detailed steps, it would be incredibly helpful as I've encountered some difficulty locating this information.

Additionally, any suggestions on achieving complete automation for a stable and uninterrupted process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Hisham

    Hi,
If you use a Data Entity to import data from Excel, you can setup a recurring integration job in D365FO. Using that API URL, you can use power automate to get the excel file from Sharepoint and submit that to the recurring integration API for import.
Check this link for more details: Recurring integrations - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft LearnThis will create a recurring batch job, you can note down the ID of the batch job that can be used later in the Power Automate to use the Enqueue API to submit file to the job. In Power Automate use HTTP connector to submit the file.
You can check out this old thread where users have the same questions as you for more help: Automate Excel file Import to D365 (dynamics.com).
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Hisham,
You can use "Electronic reporting source" and associate the ER config to read file from the SharePoint

On ER side you can create a recurring batch job then via this setup it will import the file from SharePoint in D365FO
