multi bins and smart list

I have a customer who uses multi bins and is trying to set up a Smartlist with a column for the bin information. They started with one of the standard GP Inventory lists and added the column for Bin but the column comes up blank regardless of what bin is chosen or if no restrictions are entered. We tested it internally with the same result - the bin column comes up blank. Is there a reason this information won't populate in the Smart List?

Kendra,

The bin field you are accessing is not from a multi-bin table. The field in the generic smartlist is the "bin" field in the Item Quantities Maintenance window (i.e. for NON-multi-bin use) and is thus blank.

You will need Smartlist Builder to build a smartlist that gives actual bin locations in multi-bin. Of course, you will end up with multiple lines per item number for those in more than one bin. That table is IV00112 (Item Site Bin Master).
