Mandatory ledger account for posting hours in Time Project...

Hi Everybody,

 We are using AX2012 R2 CU7 (but - due to many customizations - not so many hot fixes are installed :( ). Currently I setup Project module - we plan to use ONLY Time Projects (as MS says - no ledger postings at all !). I setup basic parameters, created project group, categories etc. As we are going to use timesheets for registering hours - I created the simplest workflow for approving timesheets. So - we created first project, then first timesheet - and when we tried to approve it - workflow ends with error :( After some investigations I found the following: even hour transactions are NOT posted in ledger (as financial transactions) I HAD TO create ledger posting setup for Costs! Then approval of timesheet starts to work properly ?!?

Did I make a mistake somewhere ? Creating Project Group for Time projects - I defined parameter for Journalizing -> Post cost - hour as 'Never Ledger'...

Any suggestions and help appreciated

    After posting the timesheet could you identify a voucher that was created?

    Hi Ludwig,

    sorry for late answer - I was 'assigned' to another project :(

    when I go to hour transactions from posted timesheet - I find a 'transaction voucher ' ID on tab General; when I go to menu 'Ledger Updates' I see a line having the same voucher ID and posting type 'Never Ledger' (no account is assigned); when I go to menu 'Voucher' - screen is empty.

    Hi Witold,

    With a 'never ledger' setup, AX should not generate any voucher.

    Can you double check this behavior in a different demo / test machine?

    Sorry Ludwig I do not have another demo or 'standard' test machine apart of already used :(

    So - thank you for answers but I have to close this discussion  :(
