Opportunity not appearing in the opportunity associated view in contacts

Hi all

I've been playing with a reset version of our CRM test environment and in the opportunity entity, I've set the "Identify contact" lookup to someone in our CRM and then clicked on that contact. When I go to the opportunity associated view, it appears that no opportunity appears. Is this to do with some sort of 1:N relationship that is missing?

    Hi Mike,

on the contact form you should be able to see those opportunities where this contact is an "opportunity contact"(and, yet, they have to be either open or recent enough.. there is lastX months condition) - could you post a screenshot of what you see and what you don't see? (contact on the opp.. and subgrid on the contact form)?

    Hi Mike,

Here is the filter condition of "Recent Opportunities" gird on Contact form.

So if the opportunity which you are looking for does not satisfy the condition, then the opportunity will not be visible in the Contact form Opportunity grid.

    1. There can be multiple relationship between contact and lookup. Please make sure you are looking at the correct relationship.

    2. Validate your view filters for invalid conditions.

Thank you all. Here are screenshots and steps on the issues I'm facing:

    1. I would create a new test opportunity called Sell to Mike and associate the contact to "Mike Test"

    2. I would then save the opportunity and then when I click on the "Mike Test" contact, I can't see the created opportunity in the opportunity pane for "Recent Opportunities".

The view is on the opportunity associated view but when I try to edit the filters in the default solution, it doesn't display the filter criteria. I'm really at a loss to what I can do for this.

    Hi Mike,

it seems the way it works is:

    - Those "recent opportunities" are linked to the contact/account through the "Potential Customer" field on the opportunity

    - If you set "Identify Contact", Potential Customer field on the opportunity gets updated with that contact

    - BUT it's only if you don't set "Identify Account". If you set that one, potential customer on the opportunity is set to that account (in other words, either of those two fields will be copied to the potential customer.. but "identify account" will take over "identify contact" if both are provided)

Depending on what you have in the "Potential Customer" field, you will see your opportunity under your contact or under your account.

Is there a solution so the Opportunity is linked to the account AND the contact when both are provided?
