Create new security Team from workflow or custom workflow activity

Hello,

I'm attempting to create a new Team as a child workflow using the out of the box workflow when another condition is met, but when choosing 'Create Record', the Team entity is not available. I've read that this may be accomplished using a custom workflow activity but I haven't found any information on how to do this. I've also come across the D365 Workflow Tool solution that does allow the creation of Teams inside a workflow. Has anyone accomplished this task before? Whether using custom WF activity or D365 Workflow Tool? If so, any insight would be appreciated

Hi,

Did you try to create the team through D365 Workflow Tool. This is a fantastic tool that avoid the use of code, because your requirement only doing code though a Workflow Activity, but this tool already have a bunch of workflow activities and you just need to use them, for your case you can use this one:

github.com/.../CreateTeam.md

Hi kcpacker85,

You could install Workflow Tool to do this as Pedro Azevedo comments. The following is the steps:

First download it:github.com/.../releases

Then do the following:

Navigate to Settings>Solutions

Click on Import and select the ZIP file.

Navigate to Settings>Customization>Customize the System, and create a workflow.

For using this activity you must access here and select Create Team action:

Set the properties.

Note: Team Type: 0 for Owner team / 1 for access team

Thanks for this information, unfortunately I'm unable to download the workflow tool b/c we are on-premise. I receive an error that the solution cannot be installed on-premise. It looks like the only route now is to build this using a custom workflow activity. Does anyone have a code example of how to accomplish this?
