Hi Experts,

Can I only have PowerApps' license to acquire the Dynamics 365 CE functionalities, e.g. Sales module, Customer Service module? That means can I use PowerApps to replace the Dynamics 365 CE all the functionalities?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi FOR365,

Dynamics 365 licensing is separate from Power Apps licensing so you will need Dynamics 365 licenses to use the Sales and Customer Service modules. Details around pricing and capabilities of standalone plans can be found in the Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide and the Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate Licensing Guide.

    Thank you Adrian.

Do you know any company implements both D365 and PowerApps? Is it necessary?

    Hi FOR365,

Most Microsoft Dynamics 365 partners also offer Power Platform services. You can browse the Microsoft partner directory to find a solution provider in your area. The necessity of this service depends on your requirements, but the trend is that businesses are increasingly customising and extending their Dynamics 365 Applications using Power Apps and Power Automate capabilities.

    I'm using a trial version D365.

When I select Advance Setting =>Customize the System

=> Power Apps Solution: Default Solution. Now there on top of the screen will display a info alert: There's a better way to customize the system (Try New Experience), this New UI is same as PowerApps's UI, and also I can create the apps like I have PowerApps product.

Do I need a PowerApps license to do this switch?

    Hi FOR365,

You must be talking about this banner:

    TryNewExperience.png

The Try New Experience button will take you to a https://make.powerapps.com/ window with the Default Solution open:

    Yes, you are right.

My question is do I need a PowerApps license to accomplish - press "Try New Experience" button will take you to a https://make.powerapps.com/ window ?

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

You do not require a PowerApps license to accomplish 'Try the new Experience' button. The Dynamics license will be sufficient.

    Regards,

    Shaina

You know, currently I'm trying a trial version, I can switch to PowerApps just click the 'Try the new experience'.

I'm not sure if the Licensed CRM system you can same way to switch it without PowerApps license?

Can you make a confirmation? Thanks.

    Hi,

Yes, you will be able to switch to 'try the new experience' in the paid licensed CRM just the way you can switch it in a Dynamics trial. The dynamics license will be sufficient to achieve this.

    Regards,

    Shaina

    Thank you Shaina.

Is that means, only holding CRM license I can acquire PowerApps all the functionalities without PowerApps license?
