Backup Procedure

Can someone review my backup procedure. I am using Headquaters with 3 stores.

On the Headquaters server I am using The SQL Server Maintenance Solution from http://ola.hallengren.com/

This backs up to a folder called Backup each night after the stores close at 7p.m

After that is finished backing up I then plan on uploading that backup folder using dropbox, one drive or google drive each night at 8pm.

I plan on setting the very same setup on each of the Stores backoffice computers.

With this plan would I also need to be manually backing up from within RMS. I will also have my receipt templates included to dropbox , one drive or google drive.

    If you are doing a backup of the HQ and Store databases and storing it in Drop box.

    That should be ok.

    You will also need all custom reports, receipts etc and the EDC settings for each store.

    Make sure to check the backups are working. Try restoring the backup to test.

    Hello Jay,

    Please note that if you are running Headquarters we do not recommend making and using back ups of the store databases as you can export out the store databases from Headquarters.
