Hi there
Current setup:
The product version is MS Dynamics 365 v9.0.40.5 (on-premises). The Dynamics was installed on a Windows server tied to a Domain, say: "Domain1". Due to some rebranding of the organisation, it was decided to change the domain to a new one, say: "Domain2".
Next thing to achieve:
It's required to alter the domain for the Dynamics from Domain1 to Domain2, as they intend to retire Domain1 ultimately. Meaning it is to tie the Windows server to Domain2.
Q: Is this doable in MS Dynamics? if yes, can you pls share how to go about doing it, perhaps such as re-installation of Dynamics, etc?
Many thanks...
Hi,
It is doable and there are roughly three steps.
1) Install CRM on new server in new domain.
2) Use SQL backup restore to move the MSCRM DB to SQL server in new domain
3) Use CRM deployment manager to import it as a new organization.
The following links are about the database backup and restore.
