Dynamics 365 migration to another tenant

We need to migrate a Dynamics 365 environment to another tenant (from EU to Japan). Available documentation shows that a service request must be created for this. However, I cannot find what exactly will happen during the migration and what actions we have to perform in preparation for, during and after the migration.

Can you provide me with information/details regarding such a migration (a migration plan for example).

Can you give an indication of the lead time to complete such a migration?

 

It is also not clear whether there is a fallback option in case the migration should fail.

    Hello R.Verhoeve,

    If you planning on moving the D365 environment from from EU to Japan then firstly you will need to perform Geo to Geo migration.

    Please find the overview on how the Geo to Geo migration works.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../geo-to-geo-migrations

    We have pre-migration and post-migration activities that Microsoft Support will be helping to achieve this activities.

    I would recommend you to open a service request with the Microsoft Support team to complete the migration.
