GP 2013 upgrade to 2015 licensing question

Hi,

We're planning to upgrade our GP environment to 2015 this year.  When you request the license keys for 2015, does this then stop the ability to purchase more keys for our 2013 install?

We have the usual test and live environments on different licenses.

The reason I ask is that we have quite a bit of bespoke on system so there is a risk that we could face a decision to delay for upwards to a year.

If we commit to 2015 licensing, our provider has told us we can't buy any more 2013 keys.  While we would only initially upgrade our test environment first, if we decided a no-go, it would not allow is to roll back to 2013 on gold to continue current support and development.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lee.

That is correct. You will have no licensing issues now that you are on the perpetual licensing model.

    Hi Richard,

I am indeed on the perpetual model for both sets of GP 2013 licenses.

So, just to clarify, this means that I shouldn't have a problem if we need to step back from 2015 and wait for 2016?

    best regards,

    Lee.

No, that was back when you were transitioning to the perpetual model. When you went from GP 2010 to GP 2013 you actually were going to a new license and were no longer able to request module additions for GP 2010 once you went to GP 2013. Going from GP 2013 to GP 2015 is not the same. You are already on the perpetual model.
