Inventory cost posting by lot

Hi All

I'm trying to get Item cost by LOT and tie it back to COGS. The system is setup with FIFO costing. Can I confirm that the system post FIFO irrespective of the actual LOT number selected in a transaction. For example:

If LOT1 is purchased $100 per unit and then Lot2 purchased $200 per unit. When you sell LOT2 it takes $100? as below example:

Lot-Cost-FIFO.png

So the system ignores the actual cost of selected lot as this FIFO is only at Item level

I have the same question (0)

I think the issue in my example is that I have used Item Journal to take stock out and in that scenario item cost by LOT does not apply. In Sales Invoices it works

Please remember that the cost that posts with the transaction is always average (when using FIFO) and that when Adjust cost runs, the system then matches the FIFO layers. Can you run adjust cost on the above and do the results change?

Hi, I agree with Kim, can you confirm after running Adjust Cost - Item Entries? If there is a cost adjustment, new Value Entries will be added.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.
