Convert a task, phone call, appointment to lead

IS there a way to convert a task, phone call and appointment to lead? I don't see these buttons available like the email does.

    Phone Call, Task, & Appointments can be converted to Opportunity or case- Reason being, you capture these records in CRM with relation to an existing record like contact, account, order etc., thats why system does not gives you conver to lead button

    Email can be converted to Lead, Opportunity or case- Reason being, email can be received from an unresolved recipient which means email id might not exist in the system; thats why system gives you convert to lead button

    Its by design but if you still want it, you can do it by multiple ways like creating a plugin or custom workflow or a real time workflow. Simplest would be creating a real time workflow. You will have to create 3 different workflows each for task, phone call and appointment.

    We have to write custom plugin to do that. 

    1. Provide ribbon button. 

    2. Attach an event handler and write the event handler in JavaScript and add as web resource and attach to form. 

    3. Write a plugin on change of a dummy value. 

    4. In Plugin, create Lead with activity values.

    Hi,

    There is no Out of Box feature (OOB) to convert Task ,Phone Call and Appointment to Lead.

    You need to make customization to achieve this requirement. If your looking for quick and best approach in converting the activities (Task , Phone Call , Appointment) to lead then i would recommend use DIALOG.

    If you observer the OOB of converting the activities to Case/Opportunity , you will notice that it pop out a Form. This form has certain business required  and business recommended fileds ex. Customer Name , Currency , Stage etc depending upon the target conversion ( Case or Opportunity )

    A business user will definitely want make certain inputs before creating the lead , possibly he wants to select a Region , Currency , Source of Campaign etc.

    So the best approach would be create a Dialog with Prompt and Response. 

    If you are new to Dialog , google out some sample blogs and practice the great features of dialog.
