Do we have to take manual Backup of Production Environment?

Hi Everyone,

We are deploying solutions from QA to Production. I just wanted to know the best practices while pushing customizations to Production.

I know that we can take a manual backup of Production to which we can restore in case there is any issue with deployment. But I wanted to know if there is any way to avoid taking manual production backup as it consumes a lot of storage. Do you guys have any suggestions or information on this?
