connection attempt failed in Management Reporter

Hi I had a successful Management Install a few weeks ago in my Dev environment . In the last few weeks, I updated the dev system with word Addon, SSRS reports etc..

I am , now, unable to open Management reporter. I get a " connection attempt failed error".  I did not make any changes to the IIS setup to my knowledge.

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

    I am pretty sure that you have either figured this out, or given up by now, but I have encountered this problem as well. I found that their was a kb update for asp.net installed on our server that killed our management reporter connection. I wish I remembered the kb #, but I do not have that information. I went in and uninstalled any updated that came through to asp.net after the time frame that my program quit working. Then, I had to add the svc extension as an acceptable extension. I did this by opening the properties on the management reporter web site in IIS, going to home directory, clicking configuration.  Now it works! Hope this helps anyone else.

    Every answer I find on a connection issue relates to IIS, but Management Reporter does NOT use IIS anymore.  What about the NEW version of MR.  Who knows anything about connection isses with the NON IIS version?
