Manufacturing Picklist included item in stock

Dear All,

We have  BOM which has sub component (material)  and sub BOMs. 2 item out of 10 items under the BOM is available in the stock. But when I print the picklist it include the material to make the Phantom BOM which is there in stock already.  I would expect the Phantom BOM to be included on picklist since its there in stock.  What I am missing can anyone help on this.

Thanks,

Babu

Babu,  I just told Ian earlier today how to handle this.  He has some detailed notes.

To use what is in stock on phantom items, you have to change the phantom BOM to a regular BOM, create the MO calling for the phantom in stock now, then reset the Phantom BOM for the future.

    Hi Bron,

Thanks for your kind reply.  We have come up with solution to change all the Phantom BOM to regular and once MO created print the picklist shortage report which will show all the regular BOM stock status and shortage quantity.  From that we can create MO to manufacture the sub BOM then once its received into stock all item can be issued to the job including the sub BOM.

    Thanks,

    Babu

    Babu -

I'm pretty certain if the subassembly is setup as a phantom assembly and the phantom is on a pick list it's always going to 'blow thru' and put the phantom components on the pick list regardless of whether the phantom is in stock or not.

Since you can easily identify the phantom sub-assembly  - you can always remove it and add the subassembly w/Configured BOM back on to the pick list. And then just issue it.

In other words, for phantom item - have a mfg bom which is a phantom and also have a configured BOM.

Having both a configured BOM and a Mfg/Phantom for the subassembly might work.......logically it should work. I'll test it (or you can test it)

    Good Luck
