Reconcile Utility did not fix GL summary and GL detail being off Dynamics GP2013 R2

This is the second month we have encountered this issue between the GL Summary and GL Detail not matching. The GL Detail is correct. The first time it happened, we ran the Reconcile Utility and it fixed our issue, but this month it did not. We even ran Checklinks for the Financial Account Transaction History and our problem is still there. What else could we do?

    Hi,

    You could try deleting all of the records in the summary tables and then running the reconcile again. The reconcile itself is supposed to first delete the records and then rebuild the summary from the detail. What are you using to compare the detail and summary balances? Are you using the Financial Detail and Summary Inquiry windows?

    Thanks so much for your reply Leslie. Yes, I am using the Financial Detail and Summary Inquiry Windows. I am using a Smartlist from the account transactions and comparing them with file we created to keep track of what entries need to be created in GP. When I exported Financial Detail for the batch in question, the entries shown there.

    Hi,

    So your smartlist value is not  correct if that is the  case have you tried to run accounts transactions SL just for one account.  If that also didn't works please go to smartlist builder and check whether you  can see accounts transactions smartlist with star * symbol on it that means some one press modify GP default SL and saved it.  You need to delete the same.  Please take a backup of company and dynamics database before doing this.  If you have a text environment please try it there.

    Babu,

    The problem is the GL Detail does not match the GL Summary. The GL Detail is correct. The smartlist I ran has the GL detail correctly shown, but it is the GP Summary for some of our GL accounts the summary balance does not match the GL detail.

    Just wanted to second what Leslie is telling you.  I've had the same issue prior where I ran the reconcile but summary did not update.  I did delete the summary table gl10110 then re-ran and issue was solved.  Seems intermittent to me, I'd be interested to hear if/how you get this resolved.  gl10111 if you have a history reconcile issue.

    Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Depending on whether you're dealing with Open or History there are two tables:

    GL10100: Open year summary master

    GL10111: Historical year summary master

    Be sure to backup your databases before you embark on this adventure.
