Saving a template - how can I do a save as before it just downloads?

Hello,

Question - I am in a record and I select a template to run. The template gets executed and now I want to save it as a word doc lets say.  When I select word from the save drop down icon, it just downloads it right away.  I would like to be able to like a save as to change the default file name so that I don't have to open the downloaded file up and change the name that way.  Is this possible and if so how?

Thank you.

    Hi,
    Is that what you mean?
    Unfortunately, we can't customize it.

    Hi Leah Ju,

Thank you for your response.  Looking at what I said, I need to revise it.

On the Quote table, we have a button in the ribbon bar, that the user clicks on and selects a quote report that was made in SSRS.  The user then sees the report, and now clicks the disk (save) icon down arrow and selects Word.  When they select word or anything, pdf, excel, etc...it just downloads the file with generic file name.

Is there a way to customize the generic file name so when the user clicks save down arrow and selects word, that it will grab the value in the Quote Number field instead?

    Hi,
When you generate a word template, by default the name of the word template is given and the date the file was generated is appended.
    Like this:
Currently, there is no OOB way to change it's name.
However, you can refer to this blog, using workflow to rename it.

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it answer your question! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Leah
