Known issue annotating with Microsoft Teams Desktop - Fix Underway (8/18)

August 18, 2022: A fix is now being rolled out with the latest automatic Teams update, and you should get it within the next three business days. If you are affected by this issue and need to get unblocked sooner -- or you continue to experience any issues after August 22 -- please open a support ticket so we can help.

August 17, 2022: A known issue is preventing Microsoft Teams Desktop users from adding annotations in Dynamics 365 Remote Assist. The Remote Assist team is actively working on this issue and will provide a fix as soon as possible. We'll share any updated guidance as it becomes available here and in our docs at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mixed-reality/remote-assist/known-issues

    May I ask is this related to the error message, "Mixed Reality annotations can't be enabled at this time" / "Holographic annotations can't be enabled at this time"?  I was googling the error but could not find a result.

    Hi Raidennn - yes, that is the issue and thank you for posting (and I'm sorry for any problems that have resulted). A fix is being deployed now (8/18) and may take up to three business days to reach all customers worldwide. If you need to get unblocked sooner, or you continue to experience the issue after about 8/22, then open a support ticket or let me know so we can help get you unblocked.
