How to open a clickable UNC link to a Local Drive path from a WebResource in multiple Internet Browsers

Hello everyone,

I have been researching and trying multiple approaches. I mainly followed this topic already existing MS Dynamics CRM community topic https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/227539 and I am stuck.

I created a webresource which displays a clickable UNC link, but it only works and open a new window if I use Chrome internet browser with the extension LocalLinks.

I would like to obtain the same behaviour in other browsers. At the moment I am using windows 10 with IE 11, and cannot reproduce the same behaviour.

I assume that for Mozilla Firefox i could apply this approach: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_don%27t_work but I am not sure yet cause I did not try it.

I would like to know if someone has already experienced this situation and how to handle with it.
