CRM 2013 Outlook Client Connection error

Hi,

I recently upgraded from CRM 2011 to 2013.I am using Claim Based and IFD configurations. After my CRM upgrade I was able to configure the new CRM Outlook client with the new version of CRM without any problem and it worked perfectly. This week my SSl certificate had to be renewed, after the renewal my CRM outlook client stopped working. I went throught the renewal procedure without a problem. The Web, mobile and tablet version of CRM works fine. I tried alot of solutions, nothing works. I have not reinstalled ADFS, I don't want to go through reconfiguration process. Here are the logs that I get when I run the configuration wizard:.

23:38:37|  Error| Error connecting to URL: mydomain.com/.../Discovery.svc Exception: Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Authentication failed

    Hello Fritz,

Are you able to access the "mydomain.com/.../Discovery.svc" url in Internet Explorer on the client machine. If yes, please check if there are stored credentials on the client machine.

Is this happening on a particular workstation or multiple workstation?

Hi... try this... Worked for me:

    techdenovo.blogspot.com.br/.../how-to-fix-crm-2013-outlook-client.html

    support.microsoft.com/.../en-gb

ADFS team has brought out a hot fix that will fix this issue from the ADFS side. The ADFS fix heals the ADFS federation metadata and publishes the missing mex endpoints, thereby resolving the issue at it's root.

    1.      Install fix in support.microsoft.com/.../2827748 on ADFS server.

    2.      Restart ADFS server. In the background, the fix would have allowed ADFS to publish \mex endpoint in the ADFS federation metadata.

    3.      Log on to CRM server.

    4.      Rerun the “configure claims” and “configure IFD” wizards of CRM. Rerunning this will cause CRM to consume the healed ADFS federation metadata and populate the correct \mex value in the DB table.

    5.      To be sure, please run the below SQL query against the MSCRM_CONFIG.

    select activemexendpoint from federationprovider

Ensure that it shows a URL similar to:

    https://<ADFS STSHOST>/adfs/services/trust/mex

    6.      Reset IIS on CRM server to destroy rebuild and cached content in IIS that was based on the old DB values.

    7.      Configure outlook client.
