I was recently upgraded to a premium license and I have verified that my BI reports are set to allow for remote access.

Any thoughts?

Microsoft SQL: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

    Check below:

    1. make sure your database engine is configured to accept remote connections.

    2. make sure that you create an exception on the firewall for the SQL Server instance and port you are using.

    3. check if your SQL server services is up and running properly.

    4.  make sure that you enable TCP/IP in SQL Server Configuration

I hope this will be helpful

    Best Regards

In addition to Syndicate Admin's suggestions, if your SQL database is on premises I believe you will need to setup a gateway.
