We are 2016 on prem version 8.1.0.359. Since the latest chrome update (version 63.0.3239.84) we have been unable to type in the body of the email activity when working in Chrome. Has anyone experienced the same and or have a fix/workaround?

I am not sure if there is a fix for this particular issue in CRM 2016, but there definitely has been a fix in Dynamics 365 (release 8.2.1.0176)
- Email body is disabled while using Chrome in Citrix, and Chrome Incognito mode in Windows.
It seems like there is a fix for it for CRM 2016 as well (8.1.0.0556), but I think only available online:

If you can get an Update for 8.1 later than the mentioned release, that should fix your problem, if not you might have to contact Microsoft support and request a hotfix.
If you are willing to upgrade to Dynamics 365, then 8.2.1.0176 resolves this issue.

Appreciate the timely response but that is a different issue that I had already solved utilizing Stylish. My issue is you cannot even put the cursor into the body of the email activity it is not white text.
