Changing prefix

I recently attended CRMUG Focus17 and learned LOTS!  One thing I learned was that we should change the prefix from new_ to something unique to our company. 

1.  Can I do this on a go-forward basis, or would all of our current customized fields and entities need to be revised as well? 

2.  How do you do change the prefix?

    Hi

    You cannot change (using the interface) the prefix for the existing fields and entities. So, you can use a different prefix for the newly created fields and entities.

    You can change the prefix and the optionset value prefix by modifying the default publisher or creating a new publisher.

    Open the solution (information) and change the publisher to the newly created publisher.

    Hi Barbara,

    You can do this on  a go-forward basis.

    CRM does not provide OOB to change the prefix for existing customizations. So let the old customization be there, now on use company specific prefix.
