    The format is:

Distribution Reference -------  Account Number -------- Debit --------- Credit

It will only paste the detail portion of the entry, not the header information like transaction date, reference, etc.

Is there a file that I should have used? I just create columns in excel and copy from excel and paste into GP.

Did you mark and copy them in Excel first? That is how the data gets to the clipboard.

actually, I can only see my pasted data in the print screen but not on my actual Transaction Entry screen.

I am using GP 2013 R2 and the Paste button exist. However, I use a spreadsheet with Account #, Debit, Credit and description column. I entered my info in each column but when I copy the data from the spreadsheet and them click on Paste in GP, nothing got pasted into. What am I missing?

GP 2015 - General Journal  has copy paste functionality

    Paste button

Pastes the description, account, debit, and credit information of a journal entry in the scrolling window. The information pasted can include alias information if you are using Analytical Accounting

Is this GP 2013 R2 or GP 2015 R2? There is nothing that has to be done to add this functionality. Are you using a modified form and someone has taken off the Paste button? Did you load the third party version of this from Dynamics Innovations? Are we talking GL Transaction entry or AP or R?

Hi, I have my GP updated to R2. however, I don't seem to find "DI - Excel Paste Setup" under additional in the Company setup. All I have is the "ML checks". Am I missing anything?

I am referring to the feature that GP offers now. I saw postings and video only that we can copy and paste the whole entry from Excel to the GL entry window.

    Thanks!
