Microsoft Flow to integrate D365 and GP

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Is it possible to use Microsoft Flow to integrate Dynamics 365 and Dynamics GP? The client wants to flow the data from GP to 365 - one directional sync and does not want to pay for any ISVs such as smartconnect and scribe. Any suggestions?

I don't know if there's a GP connector. If there is one, it pretty easy to setup Flow to integrate the two. However please consider that FLow is a tool for end users, not a tool for any scale integration. One example from experience: If a flow fails because your credentials aren't valid anymore, it's a big pain to rerun al the failed flows. There's no rerun all feature. There are also limits on the number of flows you can run and you have very limited business logic options.

If you want to stick to MS technology, have a look at Logic Apps. That's the 'backend' of Flow and more suited for enterprise integration.

Here is a good article covering what I did but this was for Dynamics 365 CRM but its all the same.

Yeah You are correct. The same approach you use flow to trigger to CRM from different applications.

Good to know the suggestion  worked

I've successfully done this using a trigger on the RM customer master that populates a table when new customers are created in GP.  This table is monitored by a gateway that is installed on the SQL server.  This gateway is used in the Flow which runs every 5 minutes.  When it sees new records it integrates them into 365 as accounts.

Lot of connector available for SharePoint, exchange and so on.. am not sure on GP . You can check it below. If not present you can create your own connector a d deploy.

As far as I know that is not possible.

We have a similar scenario for a customer that is being synced one-directional between GP and Dynamics 365, and we are using Kingswaysoft SSIS Connector.

I think Kingswaysoft is much more reasonably priced than Scribe.

Also, I assume your GP is On-Premise or Partner Hosted and CRM is Microsoft Hosted (per your tag).

    Hope this helps.
