Hi all,

I want to export data entity with the below information. I can see these information available in Fixed Asset Transaction table 'ASSETTRANS' but I don't see any data entity to export in D365 F&O.

Thank you,

    Thank you for the suggestion.

I was always under the impression that Data Lake was meant for 'big data', but it seems that it would be preferable to our current situation.

However, the "export to datalake" addin-feature isn't avaiable in the LCS as per the article. Should I submit a request to Microsoft to enable it?

    Hi agneum,

you might be interested in the export to Azure Data Lake Gen2 feature, which allows you to export table data to Azure data lake, without entities.

I have to Necro this post because I believe it is a very silly question to ask.
The reason users want access to data is usually to build reports. This cannot be done always with the entities that Microsoft provides for you because either there are no such entities and because they include arbitrary fields and not always the ones you need.

So, instead of making a read-only replica of the DB; users have to build their own entities.
It's now even harder than before to export data, I see no reason why it should be like this- this is OUR company data, it does not belong to MIcrosoft.

    Hi Biren,

Why is it that you need to export those data?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

If one doesn't exist, you may have to create one. As only Data Entities are supported. Link below to get started for Data Entity creation:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../build-consuming-data-entities

for any table that you want to find data entity for, right click table, find references.. it starts with dynamics:....dataentity... Try with AssetTable and you will see that data entity exists for that table but not for AssetTrans.

    HI Satish,

Thank you for the response. I'm trying to get data into Azure SQL Database, only way to get through data entity. I can run report to get these info but I need raw data so that I can create report as per required from Azure SQL Database. Please let me know if there is any way I can export into Azure SQL Database.

    Regards, Biren

    Hi Biren,

For AssetTrans, there doesn't exist any standard out of the box entity. If you need information from that table, you need to create a custom entity. Can you check if there is report that might help you instead?
