
My implementation partner could not recommend a solution to our problem. We migrated to CRM 3.0 in March 2008. All of our sales and marketing activity is in CRM but we still maintain a separate accounting solution that is not integrated. My question is that we cannot find a method to append Account Number, Credit Limit and status information from our accounting system into CRM. When I try a data import, it will create a new account record instead of appending to the old record. I ran a SQL query to match the object id of the account and a 2nd identifier during the import. CRM does not allow the object id to be "mapped". Given there are large amounts of records, I am looking for a solution to import to the existing record or as an alternative, when the second record is created, is there an automation solution that can then merge the duplicates versus doing this manually?
