time stamp tracking

I would like to track the time it takes our Sales Associates to process an order from start to finish. I have had difficultly pulling time stamp information. Does anybody have any suggestions or experience with tracking this before?

First, you have to determine what you mean by "processing an order".  Are you willing to consider ONLY time entering the order into GP?  If so, you can use a trigger to record adds, changes, and deletes to the sales order header table and then report on these by date and order number.  What many people do not know is that when you tab off the new document number in SOP, the system ADDS a record to the SOP10100 table right away.  Then as other work is done on the order, changes are made through updates.

Thank you for the information! I am attempting to quantify in real time, meaning including the time that the orders aren't being worked on. Would a similar process like this still work? Keeping in mind that I am attempting to track the time it takes to process a quote to an invoice.
