network load balancing

hi,

i am setting up ax 2012 and i am trying to configure the business connector using the config utility.

i am using citrix load balancers.  this has a virtual if 10.10.10.100 on the network with all the ax servers.  the load balancer is listening on ports 2712, 8101 & 8201 as per the ax setup.  i am tryting to connect to the aos servers using the balancer.  to test i am successfully connecting by telneting to 2712 from the realtime web server to the load balance ip which indicates that it is connecting to one of the aos servers.

when i try to connect to the lb dns address that i enter in the config utility it fails.  the strange thing is that if i check the firewall its trying to access the actual aos servers and not the load balancing address.  i have tried adding the registry settings as per the doc but it still seems to try and access the actual servers and not the load balance address.

Thanks

Did you try refreshing the WCF services after applying the settings in the Client configuration. There is button named 'Refresh' in the connection tab.

Once you click on it, see which endpoint/ ip address it connects to refresh the WCF service.

    thanks.  that worked.

one other question, the sync service, we are not using a vpn so we are having to use ipsec.  on ms articles it states.... Retail supports Network Load Balancing (NLB) for data that comes from the store to Microsoft Dynamics AX. If IPsec is enabled, we recommend that you not use NLB.

    why is it not recommended?

    thanks
