    Hi Alex,

Why do you need to merge two findims?

Can't this achieved by means of financial reporting without touching the underlying data in the various AX tables?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thank you for your reply,

When we create salesline, AX get dimension from salesTable.defautlDimension and from InvenTable.defaultDimension.  so When AX try merge two reciId,  the result is not what we looking for as explicated.

Can you please explain more your point : achieved this without touching data ?

    Regards

    Hi Alex,

My recommendation would be using multiple and separate financial dimensions that default from sales (customer) and item (product).

Try to set them up in a way that they don't overlap, i.e. replace the one or the other when they are used in a sales order or any other transaction.

If you try making a system modification in this very delicate area things can terribly go wrong because dimensions are used almost everywhere even in subsequent processes where an adjustment to the financial dimension framework might cause a mess.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
