Hi All,

I am currently working on both code and data upgrade from AX 4.0 SP2 to AX 2012 R3 Cu12 and i am getting the following error after specifying the Server and database name in the target "connect to source database" checklist.

Please let me know, how i could fix this issue.

    Hi Wilbertregan,

The screenshot is too small to be able to read it. Also opening it in a separate window does not enlarge the picture. Can you repost a larger version or type the error?

Sorry, the error is "class not found:ReleaseUpdateDB41_Basic"

    Once again attaching the screenshot.

    Hi Wilbertregan,

During setup, did you choose to install the upgrade models? The missing class is probably part of the additional model.

    Hi Andre,

Yes, "register database for upgrade from Microsoft dynamics AX 4.0 or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009" check box is selected during the installation process of AX 2012.

    Thanks,

    Wilbert

André was not referring to marking the DB for upgrade, but when you do a clean installation of an AX 2012 environment, then you may choose what models should be installed. There the Foundation, Foundation Labels and Upgrade models should all be ticked in order to have the necessary objects in the modelstore required for a code and data upgrade.

Thanks for the clarification it was my mistake, i did not choose the foundation upgrade model while installing the Ax 2012. Since installation is already done, please let me know on how to install the foundation upgrade model.

    Hi,

When installing AX 2012 R3 there was the option "Install foundation labels" that was unchecked by default
