Hi everyone,

We have a client who's D365 environments have the Planning Optimization LCS Add-In installed, without anyone explicitly installing it.

Does anyone know what would cause this to happen, is it being pushed out automatically?

Hi @Anthony Blake

I also have an add-in without an installation date on one of my demo systems, and I don’t remember installing it myself. I'm not sure whether Microsoft installed it or if I enabled a feature in the system that automatically deployed the add-in.

Could you check, for this customer, whether anyone has enabled the Demand Planning feature in Feature Management or set up any related parameters in the system that might have triggered this?

I would also recommend raising a case with Microsoft for more clarity, as they can check the backend for more details (i.e. who triggered the installation)

Additionally in LCS, there is no install date like there is for other add-ins. This is the same on all environments.

One environment was recently deployed, but then I subsequently checked the rest and the also have it, and have been deployed for a long time.

Client does not use MRP, and it isn't checked in LCS:

I can understand the default Power Platform integration for dual-write reasons, but not the LCS add-ins.

Was this environment/project recently deployed on LCS? During the creation of the project scope in LCS, did anyone select the option to use MRP?

Can you see the add-in installation date?

How did you determine/conclude that it was installed automatically?
