how can i delete transactions before certain date?

I use POS 2.0 fro 15 months , however the terminal is very slow now, i was wondring if i can delet only the transactions from last year and keep this year transactions, so i have each year in single database.

    if you are using SO Administraor you need to connect your current database from whome you want to delete transcation. Then select the option 'database'  from manu bar and select the option delete transcation and as well you can select the date range.

    Ahmed,

    The advise provided by Mian is misleading.  SO Administrator is included with RMS not POS, further more you cannot select a date range to remove, you can only remove all transactions.

    As far as POS is concerned you can still delete all transactions from within Tools -> Database, but this is really not what you want.  I'd start by trying a re-index of the database (again in Tools -> Database) and from there check the overall performance of the computer.  In reality, 15 months of sales on a single register should not slow you down.

    Hi Ahmed,

    Please do not follow Mian steps otherwise you will loose everything. For deleting selected transactio you need to go on SQL Server managment Studio and run qureey for table transaction.

    This is very dangoures to work if you want i can help yo but it's liitle bit tuff.

    how do I delete selected date sale data only in SQL server management studio?? . not all transactions.

    Very, very tough to do as there are ~35 tables to deal with.

    You may be better off voiding them.  BACKUP FIRST!!!
