5We receive multiple goods in from a 3rd party warehouse 5 times a week (approx 30 items per delivery, 3 times daily). Before placing in the parts own location the part is sent and allocated to a holding area to be wrapped in a protection wrap. We book goods in manually, allocating bar codes and batch numbers. The part is scanned into the holding area.
I understand that costs are identified for each part by the batch code.
Due to staff shortages/holidays/illness we print our transfer list daily - this shows a list of parts sitting in the holding area waiting to be put into their own parts location. inevitably this list can print the same part number several times as they have different batch codes. These parts are selected individually and transferred from the holding area location to their own location. if there are 9 of the same part this process is carried out 9 times.
As all 9 parts are the same and going to the same location is there a process to allocate all 9 in one go?
