Experts,

We have a situation where items posted in production order picking list where wrong. we want to reverse this transaction or return items back to warehouse. the impact should be item cost on the project and financials should be reversed and inventory should go up.

Waiting for valuable inputs.

    Hi Mohammed,

You can create a negative picking list journal or reset the status of the production order. Try it is a test environment first.

When you create the new pick list journal you can set the type to full reversal and post it to "undo" everything. Alternatively if things have gone really bad and you are not using MES and want the routing undone resetting the status will post reversing journals for the pick and route.

    Hi Andre,

I get the following error when trying to save picking list with negetive quantity

If the status of the production order is Ended you cannot do it.

Go to the works order, find the posted picking list journals (You have not said your version and it changes). So if I was to look at an early version of AX2012 it would be called "Picking List" and "Create Lines" which shows you the screen below. Pressing OK gives you lot related references for reversing the pick you selected "Picking List" from.

    Hi,

I get the following error when i try to post the full reversal journal.

"Function ProjPost.postCost has been incorrectly called." Please advice.

You will need a developer to debug it, but is the production order created from a project? If it is it changes the answer - you may have already consumed the cost into the project.

Thanks for the replies Steven, Yes production orders are created for a project. Is there a way we can reverse the posted transactions ?

    Hi Mohammed,

You need to try this in TEST system first. I am not very sure and let others opine if this is not the correct way.

You can reverse a posted transaction from the accounts transaction screen, there is a button to reverse transaction as shown below, so I assume you will have to do this for all the posted transactions related to the picking list. You can trace them by the voucher number.

Can you also share the details of what type of project transaction is created when you are posting the picking list from production order related to the project.

I am guessing you have already reported as finished and absorbed the costs into the project, so reversal within the production order will be disabled if you cannot do it - but get a developer to check the code call. After that I believe it becomes a purely project driven financial reversal as Rachit describes, but not an area I have really played with I am afraid.
