Custom Portal - Entity Lists Not Showing

Posted on by

Hi.

I have just configured a trial hosted Custom Portal against my CRM instance.

No matter what I do I simply cannot get an entity list to show up on my pages.

I have done this before on a different instance with the Customer Self Service portal installed and it worked fine.

Is there some sort of bug/issue with the Custom Portal that doesn't allow entity lists to be used? It's pretty useless without this functionality for us as of now.

We didn't bother installing the Customer Portal because we don't need the features it provides out of the box like Case Management etc and we want to start from scratch displaying our own custom entity lists and forms.

Anyone come across this issue before?

I was also stuck in this issue , here is how i solved it.

    1. Open the studio app >  navigate to the page >  click edit code.
    2. Open the studio management app,  go to list  , change the name of the list
    3. Paste the new name in the liquid tag in opened vs code window.
    4. go to studio and hit sync.

and ya somehow that worked and I have no idea how.

Yes agreed with Ingy..Sometimes we need to select the entitylist from the front end even though it is present inside crm portal side. Really microsoft need to look at this problem.

I have had this exact problem, and nothing solved it until I copied the Entities Form and then pointed the portal to the new Form...

It's pretty rubbish overall to be honest.

I have to agree with this assessment. I find it very buggy.  The entity lists won't render on the portal unless you go to the front end and edit it. You will see in the front end that the Entity List is blank whereas in CRM it is not. Select the Entity List from the front end and the list should render.

    Suggestion:

If you can see data in Dynamics 365 (CRM) for that entity but nothing in the portal then in the CRM Portal, try toggling your view to descending data order. If you see data, that means you have incorrectly configured your entity list. Make sure you set your "Filter Attribute" on the Entity List form for the Portal in Dynamics 365. So for example, if you have a N:1 relationship from an entity to a contact, then set your "Filter Portal User Attribute" field to the "Contact" (e.g. name of the relationship).

    This fix worked for me.

I am underwhelmed at the Dynamics Portal. Changes made in CRM are not being shown in Portal.  Development is proving a very slow painful process. I'm on site and like most consultants I have crm admin but not global domain/ 365 admin rights . Ideally Id like to use the government portal accelerator but Microsoft are not licensing  this outside  of USA. The Dynamics Portal just docent seem to be fully featured or mature enough

Well figured out my case.  I had originally used full page template which does not show entities now.  I changed to page, but didn't change on the localized content only at the top level.  Once I opened localized content page and changed template there it worked fine.  Guess I will have to create my own page template now.

I am having the same issue. I have the exact same entity list working in an on-premise version, but in the online version it will not show the entity list.  I have tried page, and fullpage templates.  I have added code to show the entitylist associated to the page and it sees it but nothing shows.
