when using this functionality
Track Outlook appointments in Dynamics 365 for Outlook | Microsoft Docs
If the appointment gets rescheduled, it doesn't update CRM in the contact timeline with the "NEW" appointment.
In fact it "Completes" the original appointment and doesn't update the timeline with any information apart from the confirmation e-mail saying that the new date is fine.
Anyone have a workaround for this?

after further investigation. The user had manually completed the original appointment instead of amending the scheduled date / time in outlook. This left CRM with a completed entry of an appointment that didn't actually happen.
