Hi Experts,

I have a scenario related to workflow setup, where Approver cannot be fixed it can be dynamic and should pick from the Requested Document based on the specific condition.

Example: I am sending an approval request from Project page and sender User ID is ABC. We select the Reporting manager ID XYX(Userid) on Project page manually. Now i want to send the approval request to XYZ. PRoblem is for each project, the Reporting manager can be change. because Different Project have different reporting manager. How can we configure this in BC. and how can i dynamically choose the Approver ID and configure in workflow to achieve this. Any suggestion are welcome.

Hi @M0HAN SINGH,

Business Central does not natively support dynamic approvers out of the box for all workflow types especially when the approver is not the record creator or a fixed user group. However, this can be achieved using customization.

As per your requirements I suggest you to create customized approval process instead of using BC workflow.

Their is no standard workflow in BC for your requirement but its should easy to create in Power automate If you need approval to go to the person listed in the reporting manager field—go with Power Automate and no code in BC. If you want it 100% inside BC, you'll need AL customization.

Hello,

In standard functionality it is not possible to perform a dynamic approval.

I recommend 2 options to satisfy this requirement:

- Perform a flow taking into consideration a filter: dimension, user, etc.
- Use power automate to exploit different options in the approval.
