Physical inventory count problem

Hi

We are currently using RMS 2.0.0128. We have completed a physical inventory count of all items in our retail establishment. After I a hit calculate I notice that items that are currently in inventory that have a negative quantity are not reset to zero. I also have items that are listed have a positive quantity that do not exist physically and are not counted are not tallied either. it seems that only items that are physically counted are affected by the count. How do we make sure that all items are corrected (both negative quantities and positive quantities of items not counted)?

Thank you for your time in advanvce

Brian

    Brian,

Not sure if these will help at all, but here are a couple helpful physical inventory articles from our website:

    Brian,

There are numerous options when doing a PI.  Depending on your selection, items not counted will remain as they are, items not counted will be zeroed out, etc.

We recommend to our clients that if they want to start fresh, run 2 PIs.  The first is to zero everything out, the second is enter only what was counted.

Do the first by accepting the defaults when entering a new PI, give it a name of the count like "Zero Count", calculate and commit it.  The second is up to your discretion, knowing that all items were zeroed by the first count and commit.
