Difference between Service items and Service Objects in Business Central
Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!
Hope you are well today :)

Service Items and Service Objects in Business Central:
    1. Service Items:
      • These represent physical items or equipment that a company services, such as printers, machinery, or other customer-owned assets.
      • Service items are tracked individually, often with serial numbers, allowing detailed management of their service history, warranties, and maintenance schedules.
    2. Service Objects:
      • These are broader entities that encompass the history and details of products sold to a customer, including service commitments, sales terms, and billing information.
      • Service objects can be created automatically from sales orders or manually, and they form the basis for customer contracts and recurring billing.
In summary, Service Items focus on the physical assets being serviced, while Service Objects provide a comprehensive view of the service relationship, including contractual and billing details.

    Hope this is helpful :)

Difference between Service items and Service Objects in Business Central
    Hello,

In Business Central, Service Items and Service Objects serve different purposes:

Service Items represent physical items or equipment that you service, such as machinery or electronics. They are used to track the service history, maintenance, and repairs of these items. Service items can be grouped, and you can set up default values like response time and service price groups.

Service Objects, on the other hand, represent a history of products sold to a customer, including all related service commitments. They contain detailed information about the delivered item, such as item number, description, customer details, and service commitments like prices and terms.

In summary, service items focus on the maintenance and repair of physical items, while service objects track the history and service commitments of sold products.
