eConnect 2012 Service Not Starting After Reboot

We are having an issue where after a reboot the eConnect 2012 service is not automatically starting. The problem is resolved by re-entering the password in the log on section of the properties. However, there was a password still entered into the field. Does anyone know how to get the service to automatically restart w/o having to re-enter the password?

BTW, we are not using the local system account to logon. Should we? We are using a specific user account.

Problem resolved. Since eConnect was not installed on the server, we noticed we were using a domainadmin account. Switched over to a domainadmin account that also has the DYNGRP role in the database, and it starts w/o any problems.

This is a good KB to review about user

961566            Error message when you try to run a Microsoft Dynamics eConnect Destination Adapter integration in Integration Manager for Microsoft Dynamics GP: "Login failed for user"

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

You can also change the password on the identity tab from the <Component Services> area.  When you’re changing the password on the Identity tab in this area, make sure you are logged on to the workstation (or server) using the Administrator account.

If not at any time, please switch to the Administrator account to make this change; do not use an administrator-privileged account for this.

Are you stopping and restarting the COM+ Application? If not, please right click eConnect 10 for Microsoft Dynamics GP and choose Shut Down, then right-click again and choose Start after changing the information.

Try changing the password for the account you are using for the eConnect COM+ Application. Once this is changed, update the password in the properties window for the eConnect Application as well. I would also recommend rebooting the workstation at this point.

Also I have seen this happen when the configured user account does not have the Logon as Service and Logon as Batch Job rights on the local machine.

Can you go into the Local Security Policy editor and grant the account specified in the COM+ application additional rights on the local machine.

Go into the machine’s local security policy under the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy.

Expand Local Policies > User Rights Assignment.

First look at “Deny log on as Batch Job”.

Make sure your designated eConnect account is NOT listed in here.

Do the same for “Deny log on as service” to verify the account is NOT listed here.

Next, look at “Log on as batch job”. Make sure your designated eConnect account IS listed here to grant this right.

Do the same for “Log on as service” grant this right to the eConnect account.

Now reenter the credentials for the COM+ component. You should no longer have the problem where it loses the credentials.
